Tove & Libra’s Commitment to Sustainability

Ms Christine Chow, the Founder and Creative Director of Tove & Libra

Christine Chow, the Founder and Creative Director of Tove & Libra, recently visited PolyU to give a guest talk to the students of the MA in Sustainable Fashion and Innovation. She highlighted the brand’s unwavering commitment to sustainable fashion, emphasizing the urgency of reducing textile waste and global carbon emissions from the fashion industry.

Christine introduced the philosophy of Tove & Libra: do the right thing. From sustainable sourcing to thoughtful design and ethical production, they are committed to making fashion that’s better for both consumers’ closets and the planet. Better materials, better production, and better design are at the core of their ethos, ensuring each piece is crafted with care and thoughtfulness.

Their strategy includes upcycling deadstock fabrics, using low-impact materials, designing multi-way clothing, and working with ethical factories. Christine also highlighted the intention gap, noting that while 70% of Gen Z consumers claim they’d be willing to pay more for ethical or sustainable products, they remain the largest audience for fast fashion. It is crucial to close the intention gap through collective engagement to foster a more sustainable future in the fashion industry.

About Tove & Libra

Founded by Ivan and Christine, who come from families with a three-generation history in the fashion business, manufacturing fabrics and apparel for both large and small brands. Observing the lifecycle of fashion become shorter and more harmful over the past decade, they felt an urgency to advocate for a more positive approach to what is made and worn. Tove & Libra was created as the all-in-one solution for modern women: well-made, stylish, comfortable, and always responsibly produced.
