The ESG Research and Sustainable Fashion Hub, affiliated to the School of Fashion and Textiles (SFT) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, stands as a distinguished collective dedicated to pioneering research and practices in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria, sustainability, and innovation within the fashion sector and beyond. As a nexus of collaboration, the Hub unites exceptional scholars, researchers, industry professionals, and visionary students to foster a dynamic exchange of knowledge and to catalyze groundbreaking advancements in sustainable fashion.

Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Scheme in Fashion

Our undergraduate programme offers students a comprehensive understanding of theories and practices in the fashion industry, inclusive of the latest trends of artificial intelligence, digital design, sustainability, luxury fashion, digital marketing, etc, with the goal of training competent professionals for careers in textiles, apparel, retailing, design, and related organizations.

Twelve subject clusters have been designed in the undergraduate programme, namely 1) Digital Design, 2) AIDA in Fashion, 3) Fashion Innovation, 4) Fashion Design I, 5) Fashion Design II, 6) Knitwear Design, 7) Fashion Sustainability, 8) Contour and Activewear Design, 9) Fashion Business I, 10) Fashion Business II, 11) Capstone Projects and 12) Electives.

Among the subject clusters, Fashion Sustainability aims to provide an insightful and holistic understanding of the sustainability in the fashion industry, from design of fashion products, green production processes and technologies to improve sustainability performance, to green labelling, ethical sourcing, social responsibility and legal issues in the fashion business. The School of Fashion and Textiles (SFT) currently offers a Taught Postgraduate Programme that seamlessly integrate sustainability theories and practices for fashion, textiles, and creative industries. For more information about the programmes, kindly visit the following website:

The School of Fashion and Textiles (SFT) offers research degree programmes leading to the degree of Master of Philosophy (MPhil) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The primary objective of the MPhil programme is to educate students at the master’s degree level with a view to prepare them for PhD studies in the near future. The PhD programme is primarily designed to prepare students for a career in academic research and teaching, but it also enables students to pursue a career in research.

In response to the growing emphasis on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles, sustainability, and innovation within the fashion industry, our Research Postgraduate Programme is keenly focused on these critical areas.
