Topic: Green Enhancement of Epoxy Composites with Natural Resources
Speaker: Prof. Amirbek BEKESHEV, Department of Physics, K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional University
Abstract: Epoxy composites were enhanced with nanoparticles (nanodiamonds, WS₂ and AlN) treated by aminoacetic acid (AAА). The introduction of modified nanoparticles accelerates the curing process, increases the heat resistance, thermal conductivity and fire resistance of the composites. Composites with the addition of functionalized nanoparticles demonstrate improved physical and mechanical properties, including flexural strength, elastic modulus and impact toughness, which makes them promising for use under conditions of increased thermal and mechanical loads.

Topic: Green Reinforcement of Epoxy Composites: from Microfibers to Mineral Additives
Speaker: Prof. Lyazzat TASTANOVA, Department of Oil and Gas, K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional University
Abstract: Epoxy composites are essential materials in many industries. However, unmodified epoxy resins are often limited by their brittleness and low impact resistance, which restrict their broader application. The enhancement of epoxy composites by incorporating a range of mineral fillers, including potassium polytitanate microfibers, finely-ground ochre, diorite, chromite and modified nanoparticles, is reviewed. Drawing on recent research, effects of these fillers on the mechanical strength, thermal stability, and curing processes of epoxy composites are examined. Additionally, the chemical and electrophysical modification techniques are discussed, which offers insights into advanced processing methods of composites. Finally, a comprehensive analysis of optimizing filler-matrix interaction is provided, with huge potential for creating high-performance epoxy composites.
