Professor Daphne Yiu is Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University. Prior to joining SMU, Prof. Yiu held the Rath Chair in Strategic Management at University of Oklahoma and Professor of Management at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prof. Yiu’s scholarly pursuit focuses on examining how organizations make strategic choices in relation to the institutionalization and internationalization processes. Her current research examines the relationship between socio-cognitive and affective institutions and strategic and entrepreneurial outcomes in the global and digital economy. Prof. Yiu’s publications appeared in Academy of Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Organization Science, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Strategic Management Journal, among others. Professor Yiu was elected as the President of Asia Academy of Management, a Fellow of Asia Academy of Management, and Representatives-at-Large at the Global Strategy Interest Group of the Strategic Management Society. She is currently serving as Senior Editor at Journal of World Business, and was a former Associate Editor at Academy of Management Journal, Senior Editor at Asia Pacific Journal of Management, and Editor at Corporate Governance: An International Review. She is a recipient of AMJ Outstanding Reviewer Award, publications with top downloads, best conference paper awards, and teaching awards. Prof. Yiu has served and is serving on committees related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and ethics at academic associations, journals, research funding bodies, and universities. She also has extensive administrative and organizing experiences by serving as department chairperson, associate director and chairman of research centers, and conference organizer. She has given keynote speeches and consulting advice to academic and professional associations, think tanks, and organizations. Last but not least, Prof. Yiu’s academy family consists of members placed in top universities in China, Hong Kong, and Italy.
