In late August, the School of Fashion and Textiles (SFT) proudly welcomed its incoming 2026 cohort for the Master of Arts in Sustainable Fashion and Innovation (MASFI). The orientation events set an inspiring stage for a new academic year dedicated to sustainability, creativity, and impactful learning.
The journey commenced with an engaging programme overview led by Programme Leader Prof. Miyuki CHENG and Deputy Programme Leader Prof. Yunjuan KUANG, who outlined the vision, core curriculum, and emerging industry pathways of the MASFI programme. Through an interactive briefing and Q&A session, students gained valuable insights to help them navigate their studies and prepare for hands-on design and research.
Following the briefing, students gathered for a welcome reception, creating a dynamic space to connect with peers and academic staff. Prof. Erin CHO, Dean of the School of Fashion and Textiles, extended a warm welcome to the new cohort, highlighting the school’s dedication to nurturing forward-thinking talent in a supportive and interdisciplinary community.
A central highlight of the event was the opportunity for students to interact directly with faculty members. Eager to shape their academic direction, students actively engaged in discussions with potential Capstone Project supervisors, exploring diverse research interests, industry-driven topics, and innovative methodologies to find the ideal match for their ultimate projects.
The lively exchanges and shared enthusiasm throughout the day laid a strong foundation for a collaborative and rewarding journey ahead.
